Just steps from The Eclipse in Russell lies Elliott Park, once known as Eclipse Park, the very place that inspired our name. This historic green space first opened in the late 19th century and served as the home field for Louisville’s Major League Baseball team, the Colonels, until a fire in 1892. Over a century later, LDG Development reaffirmed its commitment to Russell’s future by donating $100,000 toward the park’s improvement, aiding in renovations, including an updated playground, walking paths, picnic areas and a restored field house. Today, Elliott Park stands as a revitalized community hub, bridging a storied past and promising present, much like The Eclipse itself.
